STUDENT BULLETIN:

ART SHOW: You are all invited to an opening reception for the art show titled “Natural Views” at the Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor and Interpretive Center.  The reception is Saturday, December 12th from 1-4:00 pm.  Drop by to view the show, for refreshments and to congratulate the following Santana artists:  Tyler Balsley, Cassidy Matthie, Owen Tomlinson, Jordan Teegardin, Victoria Hilke, Joseph Killian, Savannah Hargrave, and Randi Codiamat.  The show is available for viewing daily through January 2, 2016.  Parking and admission is free.

JUST SAY NO: Take a stand against drugs!  Next week is “Drug Free” week here at Santana.  Join Peace Council in the large quad during lunch to sign a commitment card and receive a drug free bracelet.  There will also be music, prizes and giveaways.

SENIOR PORTRAITS: Seniors, You will be graduating this year and that means it’s time to take your senior portrait now.  Schedule yours ASAP with Boyd Anderson.  The session is absolutely free, but you must be photographed there to be featured in the yearbook.  Go to www.boydanderson.com or call them at 619-444-1184.

FUNDRAISER: Come support the class of 2018 at Panda Express in the Santee Town Center on Monday, December 14 from 1-11:00 pm.  You must present the flyer in order to have a portion of the proceeds go to the Class of 2018.  See Santana’s website or any of the class officers for the flyer. 

HOLIDAY CONCERT: The Santana Music Department is giving its annual holiday Concert on Thursday night at 7:00 pm in the Santana gym.  The cost is $5 for adults, students with an ASB card are $3 and kids are free.  There will be performances by our Santana Band, Santana Colorguard, and the Santana Choir.

WORK PERMITS:  Students, please plan ahead.  The office will not be processing work permits over the winter break.  If you plan to work during that time, please submit your work permit application as soon as possible so it can be processed and returned to you.

ATTENTION ALL TENNIS PLAYERS: The first ever Purple Tennis Nation League will be kicking off in January.  Come see coach Lelevier in room 704 for all the revised information.  Some of the details have changed so stop on in to pick up the new handout.  The League will combine current and past players with players in our community.  Don’t miss out!

 

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS:

ZOMBIE CLUB: If you want to survive the Zombie Apocalypse, come join the Zombie Club every Wednesday’s at lunch in Ms. Chandler’s room, S7.  New members are welcome.  We are all infected.

READING CLUB: Meets in the library every Friday at lunch.  If you enjoy a good read and sharing your love for literature, come join us.

KEY CLUB: Want to make quality friends and become more involved in school activities while earning your volunteer hours?  Thursday’s at lunch in Room 107.

A.C.E.: Santana’s Architecture, Construction, and Engineering after school program also known as ACE meets Wednesday’s in 802, right after school at 2:00.  Students who join ACE will have an opportunity to earn high dollar scholarships for participating.  To learn more, come to the meeting or see Mr. Kay for more information.

PEACE COUNCIL: Wednesday’s at lunch in room 105.  We focus on building a better Santana community, community service, and fun activities.  New members are welcome!

SCIENCE FICTION CLUB:  The Sci-Fi Club is open to all on Wednesday at lunch in room 207.  The Sci-Fi Club is a fun place to hang out and eat your lunch.  We will be discussing the new Star Wars Battle Front game.

ECOLOGY CLUB:  There’s just one small thing you can do to improve the environment.  You never know how big the impact will be.  Come find out what it is at the Ecology Club meeting Wednesday at lunch in room S-8.

THE COLOR SPECTRUM CLUB is your Santana LGBT club and meets Thursdays at lunch in room 402.  We invite you to come and hang out, learn about LGBT issues, meet new friends, and help us plan some fun and exciting events.

CHRISTIAN CLUB: Every Thursday at lunch in room 704.

ART CLUB: Wednesdays at lunch in Room 703. No experience necessary and all are welcome.  The more the merrier!

ROBOTIC’S CLUB is meeting in room 307 on Wednesdays to get ready for the competition season! If you would like to be a part of the San Diego and Las Vegas regional competitions, come by and sign up! Build season starts in January and we will be practicing designs and fundraising in December.
