CONGRATULATIONS to the JV and Varsity Academic League teams who continued their winning ways by defeating West Hills 84-32 and 106-19.  The Varsity’s victory secured the return of the Santee Perpetual Trophy to Santana which was presented to the team by Santee’s Vice Mayor John Minto.

MISS SANTEE AND MISS LA MESA: The cities of La Mesa and Santee are currently seeking ambitious, active young women ages 12-26 to participate in the 2016 Miss La Mesa and Miss Santee Scholarship Pageants.  The pageants will be held on Saturday, March 5th and are sponsored by the cities and local chamber of commerce.  They focus on community service, networking, public speaking and interview skills.  There is no swimsuit competition.  Each titleholder will also receive a prize package including a college scholarship and paid entry into the 2017 Miss San Diego Cities Pageant.  Young women who are interested in participating can get more information at www.4PointsEvents.com or contact Sierra@4pointsevents.com to receive the official entry packet.

SPRING SPORTS CLEARANCE: Avoid the lines!  It is not too early to clear for spring sports.  Complete the online clearance and bring the signed consent form along with your physical to the finance office.  All physicals must have a stamp from the doctor’s office and be good for the entire spring season.  No exceptions!

SADIE HAWKINS DANCE: ASB is hosting its very first Sadie Hawkins dance.  The dance will be on Friday, February 12 in the gym from 8:30-10:30 pm.  This dance is a little different from other dances because at Sadie Hawkins, the girls ask the guys.  So ladies, if you’re interested in competing to be our very first Miss Sadie Hawkins, please come to a mandatory meeting in Mrs. Elliott’s art room, room 702, today during lunch.  Anyone can compete and all you need to do is make a video of you asking your date in the most creative way possible.  We will narrow down the videos to the top ten.  Then, at an assembly, we will have the audience vote on their favorite.  That night, at the dance, we will award our first Miss Sadie Hawkins.  So look out boys…the girls are coming for you.
