STUDENT BULLETIN:

SPORTS PHYSICALS: If you’re planning on playing a sport next year and need your physical, sports physicals will be held here on campus on Saturday, June 11th from 8-10:00 am in the dance room.  The cost is $25. Cash only.

CAP & GOWN DISTRIBUTION is next Friday, June 10th beginning at 1:15 in room 804.  All fines must be paid and books turned in. 

YEARBOOKS: Attention all students: Yearbooks are going fast and will be distributed next Thursday. They are on sale if the finance office from now until the end of the school year while they last. They will be on sale online only until Monday. Get yours soon. 

SUMMER SCHOOL APPLICATIONS: It’s not too late to turn in a Summer School application.  Classes start June 20th.  Applications are available on the school website or on the attendance counter in the main office.

SKATEBOARD LOCKS:  If you still have a skateboard lock attached to the rack in the back of the school, you must remove those by next Friday or they will be cut off. 

RELAY FOR LIFE: Join Santee’s fight against cancer.  Teams consist of 2-25 friends, family or co-workers.  There is no fee to participate.  Sign up at www.relayforlife.org/santeeca .

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE HEALTH OFFICE: If you have medication in the health office, please pick up your medications by the last day of school.  All medications not picked up will be thrown away.

POWDER PUFF WINNERS: Congratulations to the Junior Class of 2017 in winning the inaugural Powder Puff Championship 18-6.  The team was led by slot receiver and linebacker Jennie Melton who caught two touchdown passes.  Star quarterback Janice Deguerio and wide receiver Baylee Baker hooked up in the end zone for a third and final touchdown.  The shut down defense was led by lock down cornerback Sandra Ah Nee, safety Victoria Hilke and the two rock solid middle linebackers Megan Moutaw and Cassidy Matthie.  The Class of 2017 would like to thank Hailey Schaffner for training the cheerleaders as they rocked the half time show with a sassy performance.  Lastly, we’d like to thank all the coaches, players, cheerleaders and staff members who helped and supported our fundraiser.

CONGRATULATIONS to the 2016 Santana Boys Volleyball Team for a successful season finishing in the quarterfinals of CIF playoffs.  The Sultans were led this season by seniors Trent Baugh, Sage Hick-Baguio, Wyatt Jones and junior, Johnny Tischer.  Each of them was selected to the All-Grossmont Hills 1st Team, 2nd Team or Honorable Mention respectively.  The future looks bright for Santana Volleyball!  Congratulations on a great season boys!

ATTENTION ALL CURRENT AND POTENTIAL TENNIS PLAYERS: There is a program wide meeting today after 7th period for the Purple Tennis Nation.  The meeting will address the upcoming women's season and summer programs.  There will be great ping pong action before the meeting so come early. 

SENIOR MUGS: Buy your custom senior mug for only $20.  It is a 25 oz. glass sport mug for the Class of 2016.  All senior names are listed on it and the Sultan logo is on the front.  It’s a one-of-a-king keepsake.  Pay at the finance office and then pick it up in room 801.  There is a limited quantity, so buy it now.

 

CLUBS AND OPRGANIZATIONS:

ZOMBIE CLUB: If you want to survive the Zombie Apocalypse, come join the Zombie Club every Wednesday’s at lunch in Ms. Chandler’s room, S7.  New members are welcome.  We are all infected.

READING CLUB: Meets in the library every Friday at lunch.  If you enjoy a good read and sharing your love for literature, come join us.

KEY CLUB: Want to make quality friends and become more involved in school activities while earning your volunteer hours?  Thursday’s at lunch in Room 107.

A.C.E.: Santana’s Architecture, Construction, and Engineering after school program also known as ACE meets Wednesday’s in 802, right after school at 2:00.  Students who join ACE will have an opportunity to earn high dollar scholarships for participating.  To learn more, come to the meeting or see Mr. Kay for more information.

PEACE COUNCIL: Wednesday’s at lunch in room 105.  We focus on building a better Santana community, community service, and fun activities.  New members are welcome!

SCIENCE FICTION CLUB:  The Sci-Fi Club is open to all on Wednesday’s at lunch in room 207.  The Sci-Fi Club is a fun place to hang out and eat your lunch.  We will be discussing the new Star Wars Battle Front game.

ECOLOGY CLUB:  The Ecology Club meets Wednesdays at lunch in room S8.  Everyone is welcome and we are always looking for new ideas for helping the environment and new people to get involved.  Of course we also want to have fun so join us next week for one of infamous team games.  There will be prizes.

THE COLOR SPECTRUM CLUB is your Santana LGBT club and meets Thursdays at lunch in room 402.  We invite you to come and hang out, learn about LGBT issues, meet new friends, and help us plan some fun and exciting events.

CHRISTIAN CLUB: Every Thursday at lunch in room 704.

ART CLUB: Wednesdays at lunch in Room 703. No experience necessary and all are welcome.  The more the merrier!

ROBOTIC’S CLUB is meeting in room 307 on Wednesdays to get ready for the competition season! If you would like to be a part of the San Diego and Las Vegas regional competitions, come by and sign up! Build season starts in January and we will be practicing designs and fundraising in December.
