GRAD NITE: Last Call for Grad Nite tickets!  We have 20 more Disneyland Grad tickets to sell and Tues. May 12th is the very last day you can purchase them.  Pick up and drop off permission slips and money at the attendance office.  All seniors and guests are invited for a fun- filled trip!  Once again, last chance to purchase Disneyland Grad night tickets is Tues. May 12th.

SPRINGBOARD DIVE: This last Monday the Santana Springboard Diving Team dominated the Valley League Championships with their biggest victory yet. 9 of the 13 divers set personal best scores.  Alanna Lugo, Noelle Abrantes, and Mimi Williams swept the JV Girls diving.  Oscar Reyna, Dylan Elbik, and Anson Rassmusson swept JV boys.  Jennie Melton, Brianne Murphy, and Brooke Abrantes swept varsity girls. In Varsity boys, Shane Morse and Will Jones finished in the top 6.  Nick Royer and Chase Webster brought home Silver and Gold. Chase Webster set a new league record and Brooke Abrantes set a new Santana School record plus a new league record. Congratulations and best of luck to the divers moving on to the CIF Diving Championships!

Varsity swim practice will be held at 3:00 PM today.

FINES: Hello Sultan Scholars!  The end of the year is coming quickly, and some of you, as wonderful as you are, still have fines to take care of! You seniors especially, and there are 96 of you out there, please come in and take care of any fines still remaining on your accounts. There is a special Senior fines list in the Library entry, so come in and check it out to make sure you are cleared.  

SAT: Juniors: today is the last day to register for the final SAT test of this school year. Register at or see your counselor today for more info.

T_SHIRT DESIGN: PTSA would like to thank all of the students who turned in their artwork to design our new PTSA T-shirt for next year. We had 13 entries and had a very hard time choosing a winner.   All of the entries were very good and we are proud to have so many talented students here at Santana and we are looking forward to having a contest next year and hopefully every year after that....  We are happy to announce the winner of the Santana PTSA T-Shirt contest and the lucky winner of a $100.00 VISA card....  STEVEN BARRACK a very talented Sophomore !!!  Congratulations Steven !!!! Thank you to everyone who participated and we look forward to next year's contest.

BLOOD DRIVE: The San Diego Blood Drive will be held on May 14th, next week.  If you’ve donated blood last time you cannot donate blood this time.  All your blood donations will save lives.  Permission slips are due today and Monday to your 3rd period teacher.  Also, 3rd period teachers, please drop off all permission slips to Mrs. Palechek.  See your there.

NEED VOLUNTEER HOURS? There is a volunteer opportunity for the International Fair held at Riverview Elementary on Saturday, May 30th.  There is a need of volunteers for game booths, parking, security, volunteer check-in, and general volunteers to cover other booths.  We will provide letters of community service at the completion of volunteering.  If you are interested contact Brandi Whitehurst at or see Mrs. Wilkerson-Spenny for Mrs. Whitehurst’s phone number.

EMERGENCY CARDS: If you forgot to bring your emergency card, PTSA membership, etc. to registration day this week, there is a drop box on the front desk in the Administration office.  Just come on in and put it in the box.  Make sure your student number is on your paperwork. 

PEACE COUNCIL: Join Peace Council and make a difference.  Meetings are Wednesdays at lunch in room 105.

BOOK CLUB: Hello Sultan Readers!  If you enjoy reading and would like to share your love of books with other Sultans, join Santana’s Book Club every Friday at lunch in the library.  Bring your lunch and the love of literature.

ZOMBIE CLUB: If you want to survive the zombie apocalypse, come to room S-7 every Wednesday at lunch in Ms. Chandler’s room.  Don’t be left for dead.  We are all infected!

KEY CLUB: Join Key Club to participate in fun community service activities.  We meet Thursdays at lunch in room S2.  Also, members that signed up for our Roadside Pride activity should meet at the Jack in the Box on Magnolia by 67 and Gillespie Field.

DISNEY CLUB: You’ve got a friend in us.  Come join Santana’s very own Disney Club.  Have you always wanted to go to Disneyland, but lacked the time or money?  Disney Club fundraises to go to Disneyland, so come join and plan for the 2015 Disneyland trip.  Fundraising starts soon, so join before it’s too late.  They meet Tuesdays at lunch in Mr. Reilly’s room.

SULTAN READERS!  Remember we meet every Friday in the library at lunch to share and discuss our latest reading adventures.  Remember to get to the library ASAP today as we have our guest speaker, Mr. Johnson, joining us to share our mutual love of literature.
