STUDENT BULLETIN:

GOT PLANS?  Don’t miss our Career/College Fair for 9-12th grade students and their parents.  It’s Saturday, October 10th from 1-4:00 pm at Grossmont College.  This is our biggest career and college event, and it’s for students preparing to go directly into the work force, military, career and technical school, 2-year college or 4-year college/university.  You can choose from many workshops to help you prepare for life after high school.  Students from the entire district will there, but what’s most important…will you be there?

CSF applications are due this Monday, September 28 by 1:00 pm in Mrs. Barelka’s room – 208.

THE PURPLE TENNIS NATION split games this week by beating El Cajon Valley 16-2 and nearly beating 1st place Helix last night 7-11.  Our ladies were again led by the amazing Benjamin sisters.  Both Melody and Sydney went 4-1 this week with big wins against the top player from Helix.  The JV Nation swept again.  The team was led by Allie Noon in singles and Gabriela Gonzales and Allison Velasquez in doubles.  Lunch meeting today with Coach Lelevier.  See you there.

CONGRATULATIONS to the following Cross Country runners for medaling in the Mount Carmel Invitational.  They competed with over 2400 runners. – Kibrom Elias, Joseph Rowe, Zane Moore, Cody Butrovich, Janice Deguerio, Karen Cruz, Jamie McDonald and Carmen Gonzales.  Keep up the good work.

SOFTBALL club workouts start next Wednesday at 3:30 on the softball field.  Also, Wednesday evening weight room will be cancelled.


CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS:

ZOMBIE CLUB: If you want to survive the Zombie Apocalypse, come join the Zombie Club every Wednesday at lunch in Ms. Chandler’s room, S7.  New members are welcome.  We are all infected.

READING CLUB: Meets in the library every Friday at lunch.  If you enjoy a good read and sharing your love for literature, come join us.

KEY CLUB: Want to make quality friends and become more involved in school activities while earning your volunteer hours?  Then come to room 107 this Thursday at lunch to join Santana’s Key Club.

A.C.E.: Santana’s Architecture, Construction, and Engineering after school program also known as ACE begins Wednesday, September 16 in Mr. Kay’s room, 802, right after school at 2:00.  Students who join ACE will have an opportunity to earn high dollar scholarships for participating.  To learn more, come to the meeting or see Mr. Kay for more information.

PEACE COUNCIL: Come join us for Peace Council’s first meeting on Wednesday, September 15 at lunch in room 105.  We focus on building a better Santana community, community service, and fun activities.  New members are welcome!

THE SCI-FI CLUB will be open next Wednesday at lunch in Mr. Johnson’s room- 207.  Everyone is welcome!

ECOLOGY CLUB:  We use to be called the Clean Water Club but are now the Santana Ecology Club.  We want to do even more to help the environment, but will still do some of the great things we had before, such as an upcoming beach cleanup and barbecue.  We meet on Wednesdays at lunch in room S8.  Come join us to learn more about what we do and to pick up information and flyers for the cleanup.

THE TRAVEL CLUB: Today’s Travel Club meeting has been moved to Wednesday, September 30 at lunch in room 705.  See you there and if you can’t make it, talk to Mr. Martinez.

THE COLOR SPECTRUM CLUB is your Santana LGBT club and meets Thursdays at lunch in room 402.  We invite you to come and hang out, learn about LGBT issues, meet new friends, and help us plan some fun and exciting events.

CHRISTIAN CLUB: The Santana Christian Club is having a Kickoff Pizza Party on Thursday, October 1st at lunch in room 704.  They also meet every Thursday at lunch in room 704 as well.

ART CLUB: Next Wednesday come to room Ms. Rowland’s room – 703, at lunch for Art Club.  No experience necessary and all are welcome.  The more the merrier!
