Friday Announcements:

SAT PREP CLASS: One of the largest SAT prep providers in Southern California is offering an SAT prep course here at Santana for 11th and 12th graders.  The class runs over a period of about 6 weeks and the only cost will be $169 for materials.  Flyers are available in the guidance office.

CONGRATULATIONS to the new journalism head staff editorial crew.  Our new Editor-in-Chief and stand-in feature editor is Akyra Smith, News Editor is Katherine McBride, Opinion Editor is Zach Harper, and Sports Editor is “Joe-Jo” Eickhoff.  We have many people added to our staff this year and our first issue is already online at .  Come check it out.  If you have any ideas or writing and poetry to submit, please contact Mrs. Garrison in room 104.

SOFTBALL MEETING today at lunch in room 304 to go over fall workout schedule.  Everyone is welcome.

CONGRATULATIONS to the following cross country athletes for earning medals at the Wolfpack Invitational.  Cameron Bleyle, Vincent Velletta, Zane Moore, John Lockmann, Joseph Rowe, Carmen Gonzales, Jamie McDonald, Janice Deguerio, and Karen Cruz.  Keep up the good work Cross Country.

THE PURPLE TENNIS NATION had an adventurous week of tight matches.  Our ladies took down Madison but lost tight matches to Helix and Monte Vista.  Our doubles play has stepped up with Sophia Martorana and Allison Velasquez winning 7 of 8 matches.  Also, doubles tandem Maxine Kelley and Nicole Brundage had a great week of winning.  They won 6 of 8 sets.  In singles, Sydney Benjamin ran her record this season to an amazing 12-3.  League starts next week…see you at lunch.

PEACE COUNCIL: Want to make a difference here at Santana?  Come join Peace Council!  Meetings are Wednesdays at lunch in room 111.

THE DJ CLUB is starting up again and meets at lunch to mix and play music.  Come to room S4 on Thursdays.
